17 June 2015 – It's not about where you start...

This is CrossFit Games Athlete, Julie Foucher:

This is Julie Foucher before she was a CrossFit Games Athlete, when she first started CrossFit in 2009:

This is a video of Foucher PB'ing her snatch in 2013 (163 lb, approx. 74 kg), before she went on to take 3rd place in the 2014 CrossFit Games:

Foucher announced that after the following year, – the 2015 CrossFit Games – she would be retiring from CrossFit to focus on Medical School. Every one said that 2015 would be Foucher's year, her swan song...

This is Foucher at the 2015 CrossFit Regionals, her final year of competition, when she completely ruptured her achilles tendon during Event 3, completely eliminating her chances of qualifying for the 2015 CrossFit Games.

And this is Foucher at the same 2015 Regionals, wearing that same boot, taking on the 250 foot handstand walk. She did it unbroken and finished 11th in the event.

Why am I showing you all this? What does it all mean??

It's not about where you start your journey.

It's not about where you finish your journey. 

It's ALL about how you take that journey.

It's about the character, passion, dedication and integrity you show during your journey, the work ethic you develop and, most importantly, that you let yourself enjoy the ups and downs of training.

WORKOUT OF THE DAY

In teams of 2 or 3:
A) 7 minute AMRAP of thrusters
50 reps at 40/30 kg
50 reps at 50/35 kg
AMRAP at 60/40 kg

- 3 minutes rest -

B) 7 minute AMRAP of hang power clean
50 reps at 60/40 kg
50 reps at 70/45 kg
AMRAP at 80/50 kg

- 3 minutes rest -

A) 7 minute AMRAP of handstand push-ups
