Coaching Standards
As A Professional Coach, I will:
Respect Their Journey: I understand and respect that each member is here for their own reasons. I will practice professional empathy and adjust my coaching style to suit their needs.
Respect Their Time: I will start and finish every class on time. I won't waste time gossiping, over-explaining or on self indulgent conversation. I will give them the best 60 minutes of their day.
Look The Part: I will follow the box programming and maintain my fitness. My uniform will be clean and my presentation professional (grooming, hygiene, etc.) and I will be ready and presentable for the start of class.
Give 100% Of My Focus To The Class: I will not be distracted by a phone, food, my personal life or other members. I will be engaged and present for the entire class.
Hold The Standard: I will know and uphold the standards of movement and behaviour. I will exercise my duty of care to keep my members safe and create a positive environment.
Be Prepared: I will read and understand the Weekly Coaches Brief, have a basic lesson plan, and consider scaling options and movement alternatives before every class.
Always Be Better: I will actively work on my personal and professional development. I will attend courses, seek out mentors, and maintain my essential qualifications (First Aid, Level 1, etc.)
Lead By Example: I will set the standard for behaviour and actions in the gym. I will work hard and stay humble, but I will not whine, complain or make excuses. I will actively mentor and develop junior coaches.
Be The Coach, Be The Member: I will remember that when I am coaching I will hold the standards required of a Coach of CrossFit 1864. When I attend a class I will act as I expect a member to act in my class; I will listen to the Coach, follow instructions and give my best effort in training.
Be Grateful: I will remind myself every day how lucky I am to do what I love for a living and I will regularly thank the members for the opportunity.
