How to Get Fit When You Don’t Have Time

By Kike Yepes

Everyone says the same thing.

“I want to get fitter.”

“I just don’t have time.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. In Canary Wharf, Blackwall, Poplar and east India area, we meet busy professionals every week who want to train but can’t find the time or the right environment to make it happen. That’s why a CrossFit gym can be such a game changer.

Instead of spending hours in a traditional gym wondering what to do, you walk into a group class that’s structured, coached, and done in 60 minutes. No wasted time, no guesswork just training that works.

Because the truth is, you don’t need more time. You need a plan, accountability, and a place that helps you show up even when life is full.

At CrossFit 1864, we’ve built our gym around exactly that. A tight-knit community. Expert coaching. Workouts that actually fit your schedule.

The Myth of Not Having Time

You don’t find time. You make it.

Your calendar already shows what matters to you,  work, meetings, family, errands. Everything that gets a time slot happens. Everything that doesn’t… doesn’t.

If fitness never makes it onto your calendar, it’s not that you’re busy, it’s that you haven’t made it matter yet.

Start there. Schedule your training like a meeting. Make it non-negotiable. When your class starts at 6:30 pm, that’s your appointment to take care of yourself.

At CrossFit 1864, members treat training that way. It’s not about motivation,  it’s about commitment. You don’t wait to “feel like it.” You show up, and that’s what changes you.

Why Group Training Works (Even When You’re Busy)

Training alone is easy to skip.

Training in a group is harder to walk away from.

That’s why group fitness classes work so well for busy people. You don’t have to plan the workout or wonder what to do next. You walk in, and the coach leads you through everything from warm-up to cooldown  in 60 minutes flat.

You leave sweaty, tired, and proud of yourself.

And tomorrow, you feel better not just physically, but mentally.

When you join a CrossFit gym, you’re not joining a “class.” You’re joining a structure that makes it possible to stay consistent, even with a demanding schedule.

It’s why people who once said “I don’t have time” end up training three to five times a week.

Consistency Beats Intensity

Most people think fitness comes from doing more  more hours, more days, more workouts.

It doesn’t.

It comes from consistency.

Three sessions a week done consistently will always outperform six done sporadically. Because progress comes from stacking weeks, not chasing one-off efforts.

That’s why CrossFit programming works. Each class is designed with purpose strength, skill, conditioning,  all wrapped into one efficient hour. You don’t waste time on “junk volume.” Every rep has intention.

And over time, that adds up to something powerful:

A body that moves well, a mind that’s resilient, and a habit you don’t have to think about anymore.

Remove Friction

You don’t rise to the level of motivation; you fall to the level of preparation.

If you’re serious about training consistently, remove friction.

Lay your gym gear out the night before.

Pack your bag before bed.

Know which class you’re attending tomorrow.

When your environment supports your goals, showing up becomes automatic.

At CrossFit 1864, members prepare because they know the payoff better energy, better focus, better life. The hard part isn’t the workout. It’s the decision to start. Once you walk through the door, the rest is handled.

Skip the “All or Nothing” Trap

You don’t need a perfect week to get fit. You need a better one than last week.

That’s it.

Missed a class? Go tomorrow.

Short on sleep? Scale the workout.

Travelling? Drop into another CrossFit gym or do a quick session at home.

Fitness is a process, not a performance. The people who win are the ones who keep showing up.
