Strength training for back pain

Back pain?
Get strong again
after physio.

Physio got you moving. Now build the strength to stay that way, with a coach watching every rep and every movement scaled to you.

Poplar, East London · 15 min from Canary Wharf · 5 min from Blackwall DLR · Classes capped at 10

Sound familiar?

Signed off,
but not quite back.

You did the physio. The pain has settled. But you were sent home with a sheet of exercises and no one to check you are doing them right.

Now you are careful picking things up, nervous about lifting, and worried one wrong move will put you back where you started.

You want to feel strong and normal again, without undoing the progress you have made.

How we help

Start light.
Build up properly.

We teach you to bend, lift and carry well, then add load gradually, week by week.

01

We Start With A Chat

Tell us your history, what your physio said and what still worries you. We plan around it from day one.

02

Every Movement Scaled

Start light with lots of technique. Anything that does not feel right gets swapped, no questions asked.

03

A Coach Watching You

Capped at 10, so your coach sees your technique and only adds load when you are ready.

Important: we are coaches, not medical professionals. If your pain is new, getting worse, or has not been assessed, please see your GP or physio before you start.

What a week looks like

Your first
four weeks.

Every class is 60 minutes, at 6am, 7am, 12:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm or 7:30pm, Monday to Friday, plus Saturdays. A typical start:

Weeks 1 to 2

Learn The Basics

Two classes a week. Light weights, lots of technique. Learn to hinge, brace and carry.

Weeks 3 to 4

Build Confidence

Two or three classes. Load goes up slowly as your control improves.

Every Class

Movement Check

The warm-up doubles as a check, so your coach can adjust the day before you lift.

Questions

Back pain
questions.

Will lifting make my back worse?

Exercise is one of the most recommended ways to manage ongoing low back pain, and getting stronger is usually part of that. We start light, focus on technique and build up gradually.

Do I need my physio to sign me off first?

If your pain is recent or you are still in treatment, check with your physio first. Bring what they told you and we will plan around it.

What if a movement hurts?

Tell your coach and we will swap it for something that works for you. You never have to push through pain.

Can I start one-to-one?

Yes. Personal training starts from £79 a session, and our Beginners Programme mixes one-to-one sessions with small classes.

What is the 14-day pass?

14 days of coached classes for £39. If you join before your pass ends, we credit the £39 back against your membership.
